YORK, PA. July 9, 2014 /MobilityWire/ — AgeCheq (, the company helping mobile app and game publishers easily make their apps and games COPPA compliant, today announced new additions to its corporate advisory board and board of directors.

Joining the advisory board as AgeCheq’s key privacy advisor is Tim Sparapani, an esteemed privacy law expert who will provide unique insight as AgeCheq continues to expand and pursue business opportunities involving mobile privacy issues. Tim currently lends his expertise to SPQR Strategies, a consulting firm that focuses on strategic government relations, and the Application Developers Alliance, where he serves as vice president of law, privacy and public affairs. Previously, Tim served as director of public policy at Facebook and as senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. Over the course of his extensive career, Tim has built a reputation as a knowledgeable privacy expert with a history of successfully working closely with government agencies.

“The one year anniversary of the amended COPPA law has just passed, but the ongoing issue of protecting our nation’s children online and ensuring their personally identifiable information remains private is just about to reach a tipping point,” said Tim.“AgeCheq is providing critical support to the many mobile app and game developers who are confused about how to comply with COPPA. The company has developed an elegant ‘common consent mechanism’ solution that streamlines parent participation and can be easily integrated into a game or app in under a day. I’m pleased to be a part of this effort to facilitate the mobile game industry’s protection of child privacy.”

Joining Tim on the AgeCheq advisory board are three other well-known mobile industry luminaries, including Reed Sutton of Upsight, Rebecca Newton of Mind Candy, and Jake Ward of the Application Developers Alliance.

Reed’s in-depth knowledge of the fast-moving mobile app industry covers advertising, marketing and analytics along with its myriad privacy issues.

Rebecca Newton is the chief community and safety officer at UK-based Mind Candy, a top family entertainment company responsible for over 80 million “Moshi Monsters” child accounts in 150 territories worldwide. At Mind Candy, she leads community, online safety, public policy, regulatory compliance, product moderation and content standards for the game development company. Throughout her career, Rebecca has focused on children and online safety. She serves on the board of the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) and speaks regularly on Internet safety and social networking.
