YORK, PA. July 11, 2014 /MobilityWire/ — AgeCheq (www.agecheq.com), the company helping mobile app and game publishers to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), will attend the 2014 Midwest Game Developer Summit on July 12-13 at the Olympia Resort: Hotel, Spa & Conference Center in Oconomowoc, WI. AgeCheq Technology Evangelist and Software Developer, Tyler Smith, will speak at the summit to explain what COPPA compliance means for game developers, what will happen if the law is ignored, and ways developers can ensure their games are compliant with the law.

The 2014 Midwest Game Developer Summit is one of the leading game development conferences in the region and aims to bring aspiring students and professional developers from around the Midwest together to network and discuss various game development topics through lectures, panels and workshops.

Tyler Smith, an HTML5 game development expert and a published author on the topic of mobile app development, will give a presentation on how COPPA affects games and the third party services that enhance them. Tyler will discuss the now-concluded grace period given to game developers by the FTC and explain why it’s crucial that developers understand which games are subject to COPPA fines, in addition to how those fines can easily be avoided.

Tyler’s session, titled “COPPA Compliance for Game Developers,” will take place on Saturday, July 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
