Aicent Wins Its 100th Direct International Mobile Multimedia Messaging Customer

Customer milestone positions Aicent once again as international MMS leader

Aicent Inc. announced today that it has connected its 100th direct international multimedia messaging service (MMS) customer, an accomplishment that further affirms the company’s leadership role in the global mobile multimedia messaging business.

Multimedia messaging service (MMS) allows mobile subscribers to send messages with pictures and videos as easily as they do text messages. Aicent’s MMS Gateway Service provides mobile operators worldwide with a convenient and efficient way to rapidly establish global MMS interoperability with reliable, cost-effective commercial MMS delivery and termination capabilities.

According to the research firm MultiMedia Intelligence, over 300 million multimedia phones – featuring a camera with 1 or greater megapixels and the ability to send MMS messages – shipped in 2008. As a large majority of new mobile phones include both still and video cameras as standard issue, mobile operators have seen a direct increase in the demand for rich content messaging from customers. Aicent’s MMS Gateway Service enables these mobile operators to meet this demand from customers through seamless MMS interconnection delivery, thus increasing user satisfaction while simultaneously stimulating their MMS market growth.

Along with Aicent’s MMS Gateway Service, the company recently launched a new version of their MMS service, mBridge MMS Virtual Delivery Release 2.0, which enables global carrier partners to offer subscribers a way to easily send multimedia messages to any non-enabled MMS phones, including the iPhone, across any network, any time.

“As we move further into 2009, we’re experiencing continuing growth—especially as we add global MMS customers and mobile network operators who enjoy the advantages our services bring, including additional revenue and an improved user experience for their customers,” said Lynn Liu, President and CEO of Aicent. “With the recent offering of new services like mBridge paired with the industry’s most direct international customer footprint, Aicent has further proved its leadership and is looking forward to supporting the growing MMS market.”

Aicent operates one of the world’s largest GPRS Roaming eXchange (GRX) networks.
