SAN JOSE, Calif., February 9, 2015 /MobilityWire/ — Fairchild (NASDAQ: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance power semiconductor solutions, today announced the selection of Serial Microelectronics PTE Ltd. as its newest distribution partner for Greater China, Southeast Asia, and India. The agreement will enable Fairchild to extended its coverage and strengthen representation throughout the region as demand for innovative power solutions continues to grow.

“Fairchild is committed to engaging with distributors as we work to expand and better serve our customer base. As part of these efforts, the new distribution agreement with Serial Microelectroics is an important step,” said Chris Allexandre, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, at Fairchild. “With interest in Fairchild’s power solutions increasing among customers in Asia, particularly in key markets like China, Taiwan and India, it’s imperative that we step up our coverage and support with a stronger distribution network and Serial Microelectronics is an excellent partner for helping us to meet this objective.”

Under the agreement, Serial Microelectronics will distribute all Fairchild products and solutions in Greater China, Southeast Asia and India, where rapid response time and reduced time to market are imperatives. The agreement aims to build on and extend the close relationship between the companies, including improving inventory management.

“We are excited about this new opportunity to work with Fairchild and the customers who rely on their power solutions for automotive, industrial, consumer and mobile systems,” said Group Chief Operating Officer Adrian Chu at Serial Microelectronics. “With our enhanced inventory management system plus our vast distribution network coverage, Serial Microelectronics is an integral component in enabling the success between our suppliers and customers.”

The distribution agreement with Serial Microelectronics further strengthens Fairchild’s world-class supply chain for addressing the increasingly dynamic semiconductor solutions market. Working with all its distributors, Fairchild is well positioned to meet the inventory and manufacturing requirements of manufacturers around the world who are faced with the need to accelerate their design and development cycles in order to remain competitive in a fast-paced marketplace.
