Kimera Systems (www.kimerasystems.com), producers of the world’s first intelligent context awareness technology for connected devices, today announced that Jim Walter has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer and Mark Johnson as Chief Marketing Officer. Highly qualified to bring Kimera Systems’ cutting edge technology to market, Jim and Mark each bring more than 20 years of experience to their respective roles.
“Kimera Systems’ success requires a CTO with the ability to imagine a world few people can, and a proven track record delivering intelligent, globally scalable services,” said Mounir Shita, CEO of Kimera Systems. “Jim Walter brings Kimera this proven track record. Jim’s extensive experience in both the startup and public software company sectors brings an invaluable skill set to the Kimera System team. I can’t think of a person better qualified to lead the development of our technology than Jim.”
Jim Walter’s background delivering scalable analytic systems is well matched to Kimera Systems’ dynamic, real-time model of reality, which anticipates what people will want and need. He comes to Kimera with 15 years of experience leading engineering and product management teams at companies such as SpaceCurve, Engineous (Dassault), Insightful (TIBCO), Sage and General Electric. His teams have delivered cutting-edge modeling and simulation products for use in location-based services (LBS), aerospace and automotive engineering, quantitative finance and bio-informatics.
“Mark Johnson will be a key player in growing Kimera Systems’ success in the mobile arena,” added Shita. “Mark brings extensive experience in strategic marketing, software commercialization, business development and developer relations. Mark’s expertise in marketing mobile technologies makes him a critical addition to our management team.”
Mark Johnson joins Kimera Systems from Intel Corporation where he was responsible for driving the strategy and execution of integrated, global marketing campaigns. Prior to Intel, Mark was marketing and business development manager in Google’s developer tools division. Previously, Mark served as vice president for Instantiations, Inc. where he led global marketing and business development, and initiated and facilitated the successful acquisition of Instantiations by Google.
Together Jim and Mark greatly enhance the management experience and capability of Kimera Systems’ core team. The addition of two highly experienced executives accelerates the company’s plan to bring its highly innovative, intelligent context awareness technology to market in time for this year’s CTIA trade show in Las Vegas.
